Description
The Litho Boost is based on the classic Pharaoh Amplifiers Class-A Boost pedal. The Class-A Boost was one of the original boutique boost pedals, with hundreds of dedicated users across the world. From time to time, Class-A Boost pedals have made their way back to our shop and we’ve been floored by just how great they sound! We started with the tried-and-true Class-A Boost circuit and then did absolutely nothing to it.
Controls:
Volume — Controls the output volume of the boost. Crank it to overdrive your tube amp.
Contour — Set low for transparent and glassy boost. Or set it higher for fat and juicy boost. Your call.
Tone — Adjusts the high frequency content of the boosted signal. The “neutral” setting is around 2 o’clock.
Bypass Switching:
The Litho Boost features true bypass switching using a latching relay and a soft-touch bypass footswitch. The Litho Boost will power on in either bypass mode or effect mode (useful if you are using the pedal with a remote bypass switching system.) Hold the footswitch at boot to toggle between bypass and effect startup modes. The pedal remembers your settings when the power is removed. The Litho Boost is fully analog.
Note: certain early Litho Boost pedals have a mechanical 3PDT bypass switch rather than the relay switching. Relay equipped pedals blink the LED twice rapidly at power-on.
Power Supply:
The Litho Boost requires a 9V DC power supply with a 2.1mm pin, center negative. The Litho Boost is not designed to be powered on supplies higher than 9V and does not use a battery. The Litho Boost should work fine on a multi-pedal “daisy chain” connector, but if you encounter excessive noise or hum try a separate power supply. The Litho Boost requires approx. 12mA.
